  • Age 21 or over
  • US Citizenship
  • A background demonstrating good moral character
  • Satisfactory completion of Peace Officer Academy (POST) Entrance Test

All applicants interested in a DPS Officer (Trooper) position are required to take a written exam called the P.O.S.T. Entrance Test. You should take the P.O.S.T. Entrance Test as soon as possible to get your score recorded into the test database.

*** To qualify for this job you must have a copy of the official test results from the POST Entrance Test, which will be requested by the Utah Highway Patrol when we start a testing process.***
