Seatbelt Convincer:

The Utah Highway Patrol received a new Seatbelt Convincer machine on April 30, 2008. The machine demonstrates the importance of seatbelt use and will be displayed at public information and education events throughout the state.

The new Convincer was a senior project designed and built by a group of Weber State University engineering students.

Peace Officer Memorial:

The annual Peace Officer Memorial Service will be held May 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the rotunda of the Utah State Capitol.

The groundbreaking for the new Utah Peace Officer Memorial on the grounds of the Utah State Capitol will be held May 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
